  • G41M-VS3 and HIS 4870 compatibility issues

    Good day,
I've aquired an Asrock G41M-VS3 mainboard and HIS H487FN1G Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit PCIe video card. Unfortunately, there is no way to "combine" these two parts.

The problem is, that no signal comes out of the video card, however internal video works fine. If both VGA card power connectors are plugged in, sometimes the MB does not even go to POST (no beep, just fan spin/stop/spin indefinately).

PSU is out of the question, as 1.2kw Chieftec was used for testing (as well as some others).
PCIe slot is OK, as two other cards put in it work fine.
HIS card is also working, as proven by testing it in Gigabyte MB.

Is there some compatibility problems with these mainboards, or perhaps I need an BIOS update (of course newer than provided in Asrock webpage)?
    Any other ideas? Thank You.
