X79 Extreme 6 Error Code

Hi

Just turned on a new X79 Extreme6 mobo with an E-2609-ep and am getting a d7 error code need a little help.

Welcome to the forum.

D7 = No Console Input Devices are found
Sounds like a problem with your keyboard and/or mouse .

reinstalled keyboard. Now I have an A6 code? removed all SATA devices and cleared cmos. Still have A6 code.

Did you remove your optical drive too?
Is your motherboard installed in the case?
Try booting with a minimal hardware setup; one video card, one memory module, etc.
Disconnect any unneeded usb devices for booting.
Boot with your o/s boot drive installed.

This is a new system no o/s yet.

I always build and test a new system with the motherboard on a cardboard box outside of and beside the case. There might be a problem with an electrical short, often near the rear I/O panel area or with the motherboard standoffs.

Double check all wire/cable connections, make sure that all hardware is properly installed, and that there is no debris in any motherboard slots. It's rare, but I've seen a few cases where an improperly installed front panel usb 3.0 cable was preventing the system from booting. Double check that the cpu cooler is secure and installed correctly.

There seems to be some forum problems that need to be fixed.

Your board has two SATA controllers, the Intel X79 and the ASMedia. A6 is SCSI detect, which is a drive problem, but none are connected, correct?

Try the Intel ports only at first, particularly with an optical drive, some of the secondary SATA controllers won't work with them.

Not sure if you have all of your video cards installed now, three is a bit much for a first start up, use one only to make things simple.

parsec you do good. I put both the optical drive and ssd onSATA2_0_1 and it wants to boot.

Well play with SATA3_0_1 later.
