Are you referring to a connector that has 2 rows of pins where the bunch of wires to the front of your case are suppose to go? Audio, usb are pretty obvious, they will only go in one way (unless you force them in and crush the pins). The "on", "HDD Activity" reset, pc speaker have two wires. What would be the "negative" (- pin) will all be the same color (black, white or any other that the case manufacturer had on hand). The (+pin) will have different colors and of course, on the connectors there is a brief description printed on them to help id what they are (besides seeing where they go physically).

The thing is, IF YOU CONNECTED THEM WRONG (BACKWARDS) NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR MOBO. If the "on led" does not light, simply turn off your pc and turn it around and turn on your pc again. Once you get all working as should, WRITE it down on a piece of paper (the manual preferably) for future reference.

Yes, it is "trial and error" but that is how most of us do it ;)

What are the front connections? Could be several things, USB, Audio, or power/reset buttons and LEDs. Not sure what the problem is.
