  • Matching GPU to ASRock specific motherboard

    Hello,
Lately I bought Battlefield 3 and I decided to buy a GPU that'll actually run it (unlike my Intel HD Graphics).
I have the i3 2100 3.1 GHz on the ASRock H61M-VS motherboard. I was thinking to buy the GeForce GTX 650, and I just don't know how good will it match my motherboard, and if there's more succeful combination.
    Thanks a head.

I will recommend a GTX 650ti or HD 7770, they are very good at p/p
I'm using a Galaxy GTX 650ti with Asrock 970 pro3 mobo, smooth gaming so far
( MSI or Asus vga cards should be better )

Re: Matching GPU to ASRock specific motherboard

Both of my MSI N460GTX Hawk video cards have been excellent.
I prefer to buy higher end video cards within a model family as they often offer better cooling, lower temperatures and less fan noise.

The GTX 650 Ti video cards offer better performance and have a higher selling price.
Buying a better video card will usually let you use higher in game quality settings and offer better gaming performance.

HardOCP just reviewed the recently released GTX 650 Ti Boost video card.
HARDOCP - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Video Card Review
      From the HardOCP conclusion:
Performance - On performance, the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost offers the same gameplay experience as the Radeon HD 7850. We found that the gameplay experience was the same in every game, but the performance itself was actually slightly faster with the GTX 650 Ti Boost. Compared to the new Radeon HD 7790, the gameplay experience was superior on the GeForce GTX 650 Ti in every single game. Plus, the performance itself just smashed the HD 7790.

Value Summary - The new GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost competes not with the Radeon HD 7790, which was just announced days ago, but in fact it competes with AMD's next model up, the Radeon HD 7850. However, the GTX 650 Ti is priced at the Radeon HD 7790's level. Therefore what you get is Radeon HD 7850-like experience, for less money. The clear value is the new GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost.

NVIDIA current pricing lines up like this as of today according to NVIDIA:
      $109 - GeForce GTX 650
      $129 - GeForce GTX 650 Ti
      $149 - GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 1GB
      $169 - GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB
      $199 - GeForce GTX 660

      The Bottom Line

As always with video cards, how fast are you willing to spend?
