  • Asrock Extreme 3 990 FX AM3+ board not powering off

Hello, I purchased this board a couple of days ago and installed it. Fantastic. Everything went great, Really like the BIOS look and feel too. Everything works a treat apart from if I tell Windows 7 to shutdown. It goes through the motions and then eventually the screen goes black as if to turn off but the fans still run and it seems if you wait long enough it will eventually restart the system. Initially I thought I might have a ram issue or something. So I ran Prime95 for most of the day and also ran memtest all working fine. All apps etc work perfectly and the CPU temperatures are fantastic... I know it's not the end of the world but I'd like shutdown to shutdown :) Any ideas? Thanks for your time. You must get sick of the crying for help :)

Please go HERE, scroll down and fill in the "System Specs' so that we know what you have there system-wise.
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

Please add model numbers to all of your hardware.
This additional information is often needed when troubleshooting.
Sometimes a problem might be caused by a keyboard, mouse, or even a usb hub.

Are there any usb flash drives that are connected to your system? If yes, which usb ports?
