    FX-8350 on 870 Extreme3 1st revision will work???

    i bought an FX-8350

    but now i have the ASrock 870 Extreme3 1st revision

    will it work or this will fry my motherboard ?

    on asrock site ASrock 870 Extreme3 rev 1.0 is not supporting the FX-8350 or other FX cpu...

    No,it wont work. This motherboard dosen't supports your CPU....

      On asrocks website their cpu support list says the 8350 will work with it, if it has the 1.5 update or later for bios.

        The 870 Extreme3 original non-R2.0 board unfortunately does not support the FX series CPU's.

        Sprebish, You're mistakenly referrencing the 870 Extreme3 R2.0 CPU Support List. Note that the OP has a r1.0 board.

        870 Extreme3 CPU Support List (original, first rev.) The board the OP has. Board does not support any of the FX series CPUs.
        ASRock > 870 Extreme3

        870 Extreme3 R2.0 CPU Support List. Board does support the FX-8350.
        ASRock > 870 Extreme3 R2.0

          870 Extreme3 doesn't support AM3+ CPU.
          Please refer to below link to check 870 Extreme3 CPU support list.
