  • Dr. Debug d0 on Asrock z77 extreme4 :(

Bought an asrock extreme4 z77 in early Sept 2012. PC was working fine since then, but about a week ago the PC rebooted itself and refused to POST. Dr. Debug showed error code'D0' (CPU initialization error). I unplugged everything from mobo except CPU and 1 stick of 8gb ram, but Icannot get the board to post. The debug led always stops at D0. Haven't overclocked or done anything. CMOS reset has done nothing either. Would sincerelyappreciate any help/advice on this!

I don't have another mobo to test the CPU on :(

Or another CPU to test on the board, I imagine.

Check the power supply connections to the board. Also, the PS may have failed, another you can test with?

Check the CPU cooler, is it to tight or has moved? What CPU cooler do you have? Does it look evenly level on the CPU, and not tilting in one direction?

You may need to remove the CPU cooler and remove the CPU and check for bent contacts in the socket.
