  • 990FX Extreme4 RAID / Marvell SATA question

    Hello,

So I swapped out my old ASUS M3N-HT delx mempipe (2 raid controllers on board). I installed the ASRock 990FX Extreme4.

    I am running my WIn 7 64-Ult on 2 128Gb Sata3 SSD's RAID -0

What ports would this RAID operate fastest on?

I currently have them on port SATA3- 1&2 and I am getting 450 MB/s transfer rates for random accesses. It was 700 on my M3N-HT...

I have 2 x 2TB spinning drives on ports SATA3- 7&8 running software RAID-1 through windows, though I am debating using my PCI-e raid card for those 2 drives because it is slow at 80MB/s.

    I have my DVD's on SATA3-5&6.

I am a little dissapointed with this board as I thought the Marvel SATA controller was RAID enabled, but I can't find RAID support for SATA3- 7&8. And the manual is not specific as to where the RAID should reside on port SATA3 -1-6, it works on 1&2 though.

    Specs: Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 case, Gigabyte ODIN GT800 PSU, ASRock 990FX Extreme4, AMD Phenom II 965, 32 GB PC3 1333, 2x 128GB SSD Raid-0, 2x2TB 7200rpm Software Raid-1, Nvidia 660Ti 2GB, Corsair H100 coolers, 2x SATA Superdrives HD/DVD-BlueRay-DVD/DL/RW/R, 16TB ProRAID 8x3TB Raid 50+, HannsG 28"
