  • Wake timers do not wake computer from S3 sleep - Asrock Vision HT 321B

"Wake timers" set by Windows Media Center do not wake the computer when S3 sleep is used.
I need them to work because my computer will miss TV recordings if it does not wake for them.

Strangely, they do wake the computer successfully from S1 sleep and Hybernation. S3 is the only problem.

Windows Media Center is not the issue: I can confirm that this problem exists when testing the sleep/wake behaviour using the Passmark Sleeper application. PassMark Sleeper has confirmed that wake timers do wake the system from S1 sleep, but wake timers do NOT work when in S3 sleep.

    Setup:
Fresh installation of Windows 7 x64 Service Pack 1 with all important updates installed
BIOS firmware: factory version (HM77-HT v1.00)
Hdd: OCZ Vertex 2E SSD & factory
USB: only keyboard connected, no others

ACPI BIOS settings (although I have already tried changing all of the below & retesting without success):
    Suspend to RAM = auto
    Check Ready Bit = enabled
    ACPI HPET Table = enabled
Onboard LAN Power On = enabled
    CIR Power On = enabled
RTC Alarm Power On = By OS
USB Keyboard/Remote Power On = enabled
USB Mouse Power On = enabled

    Windows' Power Options:
Set to Balanced with the following options:
    Sleep = 60mins
    Allow hybrid sleep = off
    All wake timers = enable
USB selective suspend setting = disabled
When sharing media = All the computer to sleep

    PassMark Sleeper:
wake timers work in S1 sleep
wake timers do NOT work in S3 sleep

    Can anyone help please?
I'd really like to get S3 sleep working rather than S1.
