  • UEFI Settings

As you can see at the bottom, I have a pretty simple system...single monitor, onboard video (Intel). I also have lots of hibernation and sleep issues. Computer sometimes does not go into hibernation and sometimes wakes for no apparent reasons. I have exhausted all avenues except playing with the UEFI settings.

I have Googled and Googled but cannot get answers to what these UEFI settings should be:
    ACPI HPET Table
    Check Ready Bit
    No Execute Memory Protection
    Hardware Prefetcher
    CPU C3 State Support
    CPU C6 State Support
    Long Duration Power Limit
    Long Duration Maintained
    Short Duration Power Limit
    Primary Plane Current Limit
    Secondary Plane Current Limit
    IGPU Multi-Monitor
    Render Standby

While an explanation of what these REALLY are and what they REALLY do would be welcome, I would be REALLY happy if someone who knows just tells me how to set them!
    Thanks in advance.

    Re: UEFI Settings

    ACPI HPET Table-enabled or auto
    Check Ready Bit-enabled or auto
    No Execute Memory Protection-enabled
    Hardware Prefetcher-enabled or auto
    CPU C3 State Support-enabled
    CPU C6 State Support-enabled
    Long Duration Power Limit- auto
    Long Duration Maintained- auto
    Short Duration Power Limit-auto
    Primary Plane Current Limit-auto
    Secondary Plane Current Limit-auto
    IGPU Multi-Monitor-auto
    Render Standby-auto

These settings should already be set when you see them in your UEFI bios.

You are also right about you don't need to know what they mean. Only some need to be addressed if your going to OC

Instead of hibernation go into sleep mode. Sometimes updates for various programs will wake the computer to inststall the updates but it should go back to sleep after the update is installed. I'm thinking you have Windows 7,yes?
Right click on desktop, go to personalize, left click on screen saver, go to Change Power settings- left click, will bring up a new window with select a power plan, scroll to balanced -click it then go right of Balanced, right click change plan settings, set turn off display to what ever time you want, then down to put computer to sleep and set whatever time you want, go down to Save changes -left click it and you should be good to go
