  • B75M high speed cpu fan at star tup

    Hi,
i recently got the ASRock B75M motherboard with Pentium G620, stock cooler. Everything works fine, just one thing keeps happening at every start up.
Immediately after power button ON the CPU fan runs at high speed rpm for about 4 seconds and then lowers the rpm to normal. Any similar experiences?

That's normal on many boards, it takes a moment for the fan speed control software to start up, since it is at least partially controlled in the BIOS. All boards go through their POST functions, and then more of the BIOS functions start up. Some boards are able to keep the fans connected to the board under control at all times, which I assume means the chip used to control the fans is doing the work on its own, rather than waiting for the BIOS to tell it what to do on each boot.

The fan doesnt startup on boot for cca 2 s, then it rolls on maximum speed and settles down. So, this is normal..
      Thank you for the answer.
