    System is

    x79 Extreme6 bios 1.5
    3930K
    Antec Kuhler 920
    4x2GB Geil EVo Corsa 1866 C9 1.5v
    EVGA 580GTX SC
    Corsair 750W

The board will run fine with 4 sticks in dual channel or up to triple channel, anything as long as I do not insert into the C1 slot. I have tried both XMP, and manually setting speeds, timings and voltages. Even tried downclocking the RAM. If c1 is populated I get the b7 post hang.

So after searching, most users with b7 post issues solved their problems with different RAM, however no one mentions if the board posts in dual or triple channel configurations.

I have had the board over a month so store return is not possible I just got the system put together recently and noticed I was running in dual channel mode. Should I start an RMA?

There is an amazing sale on Ballistix Sport sticks that should work with the Extreme6 so I just ordered them. Will update next week :)

no sticks at all will work in c1 slot?not even just one stick in c1?

try undoing a quarter turn on each corner of cpu heatsink as if too tight it can cause memory problems, also carefully visually inspect the cpu socket for any bent pins, take care not to touch or damage any when checking

Nope not even a single stick works in the slot. No damage to the slot either that I could see.

Getting some micron based RAM as there are a few sticks on the QVL that uses micron ICs.

I did try loosening the sink as well. I would think that would not be an issue on 2011 because there is no PCB flex possible bcause of the new sink mount design. But i could be wrong.

There is a "blemish" on one pin in the socket. Came that way and it is not bent or anything just caught my eye when I was installing the setup like a small discoloring. I tried looking for the pinout of LGA-2011 to see if I could figure out if it was a that channel (45% chance it is a memory pin) so it might be the problem. I am getting other RAM to test it first.

if its discoloured then it might not be making good enough contact and arcing, you can if your skilled, use a fine sewing needle and magnifying glass and carefully lift up the pin very slightly and leave it at that, just so it makes contact with the underneath corresponding cpu pad

only attempt that though as a last resort, idk if new ram would fix it as your current ram is working fine in all the other slots its just that one ram slot that isnt working,so it lookslike the board itself is at fault to me?

again dont play or move cpu socket pins more than whats needed as they fatigue and snap off without warning very easily,if that happens you might aswell throw the board away

you can always rma back to asrock remember if you dont want to mess yourself, which by rights you shouldnt
