  • H77-ITX not detecting PCIe TV tuner (on first boot)

    Asrock H77-ITX BIOS 1.13A
TBS6280 PCI-E DVB-T2 Dual Tuner TV Card (also tried the TBS 6284 Quad Tuner with exactly the same problem)
    Xilence 200W SFX power supply
    Windows 7 64

I have an odd problem which can be reproduced every time.

Problem: Every time the PC is cold started (from the case power switch) the PCIe TV tuner card is NOT detected and there is no device in Windows device manager. This is a big problem as this is a HTPC and the TV tuner must be detected in case of a power recycle.

Work around: In order to get the TV tuner detected any one of the following works:

    - Let the PC start. No TV tuner detected. Start > Restart. This soft reboots the PC - the TV tuner is detected every time.

    - Boot the PC and press Delete to enter the BIOS (no PCIe device detected in System Browser). Exit the BIOS without saving changes - the TV tuner is detected every time.

    - Boot the PC and press the reset button on the case before Windows starts loading - the TV tuner is detected every time.

    I have tried:
    - BIOS 1.00 and 1.10 and beta 1.13A
    - Changed PSU to a 350W

Are there any settings in the BIOS which could fix this?

Ordered a Black gold 3620 and this works on first boot and delivers HD channels with out any problems.
