  • Extreme 4 failure to start up

    Hi,
Today, I fitted an new Extreme4 970 m/board with a new AMD Phenom2 X4 965 BE. New RAM also fitted. Comp powered up with no problem and was working ok. I shut it down for a short while, but it will now not start up. Chassis and CPU fans are working, debug display just shows 00, no activity on monitor or disk activity light.

Any ideas on what to do next??

    Kind regards

    Valkeire

    Try the following
    Clear the CMOS
    Restart
    If Display then stop
    No display then
check if the monitor is properly connected
    Monitor connected ok then
Check if RAM is properly seated
    If RAM Okay then
remove all RAM sticks and just insert one stick in slot 0
    Restart
    If RAM is okay then
    Re-check PSU loose connections
    If PSU is okay then
Disconnect everything except motherboard power supply
Insert one RAM stick and start
    Do you see BIOS ?
If no then your MB could be faulty
    Speed is the limit
