I've tried uninstalling Intel Rapid Start and Intel Smart Connect (which are useless for desktops, btw) technologies but I'm still getting BSOD during games. I even rolled back my video drivers to a version that I know was stable prior to the 2.20 BIOS update. Whatever they did in the latest 2.20 BIOS, they screwed up big time. I noticed in the notes of the BIOS they stated to only flash newer versions of the BIOS. I tried it reinstall 1.70 but the system stayed at 2.20. What are my options at this point? Obviously this is a software issue but if necessary, I'll just replace the motherboard if it means stable gaming.

Re: Z68 Extreme4 2.20 is giving me BSOD
I even tried turning PLL overvoltage to disabled but I'm still getting BSOD 124.
Going to try disabling C3 and C6 states as stated in this thread when I get off work:
Just weird that I never had this issue prior to the latest BIOS update. They never should have added Rapid Start or Smart Connect for this board; desktops don't need it and its just causing problems.Last edited by Lord Odin; 08-15-2012, 10:52 PM.

Load UEFI defaults and disable smart connect in BIOS.
I already tried disabling both SC and Rapid Start in the BIOS as well as removing the drivers completely to no avail.

Re: Z68 Extreme4 2.20 is giving me BSOD
I was incorrect; I didn't try defaulting some of my values. Through some testing, I found out that I had to lower my Load Optimized CPU OC from 4.6ghz down to 4.4ghz. Doing so has made the system stable again for now until I can do more thorough testing.
