    Friends,


    After much research observed that the size of the IFFS partition must be equal or greater than the amount of system memory. The software provided by AsRock is limited to 8GB. So we have to manually partition (that done, 'No valid intel rapid start partition found" message disappears) or enabled "Active Page Threshold Support" (For smaller partitions of the amount of memory in the system).
    For this you have to do the following: ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/mb...intel-ui_e.pdf
    Following the manual from Gigabyte, which is more complete than the Asrock, the message will disappear and you can install the drivers. In my case, if I enable this function properly, the system reboots several times without showing any screen. I believe that is a issue in the new BIOS, which does not allow the use of Raid, AHCI only. Help me?

      Thanks. I've contacted the USA official support. But they only say that "working" and a link to a PDF with basic instructions (Brazilian Support was unaware of this technology.).

          This is a new technology and probably few people use it. I noticed only 3 threads talking about this new technology and issues across the Internet...
          Even the manufacturers do not seem to understand it. Intel has no drivers, such as Rapid Storage, only manufacturers.
          Basic example is the partition IFFS have the amount of system memory. I had to read a lot to understand this, although not written explicitly.

            A quick web search turned up:
            [Intel Rapid Start Technology requires Intel 7 Series Chipset support,
            dedicated SSD partition, and Intel Rapid Start Technology software and BIOS support.
            The SSD partition size should be equal to the amount of DRAM in a system.

            It sounds like the bios probably isn't ready for prime time for desktop systems.
            I'm not sure what advantage it has over the existing sleep modes, at least for desktop systems.
            Hibernation works fine for my P35 system, but my system doesn't come alive in 5 - 6 seconds.

              Exactly. I read it. I tried in a SSD and HDD with no sucess. That is why I put my conclusions above. And why I say about the software Asrock be wrong (it is limited to 8GB IFFS partition).

              I agree. But what to do, whom to consult about it, as they said that some boards are suitable?
              I'm not sure what advantage it has over the existing sleep modes, at least for desktop systems.
              The advantage is this:
              Hibernation works fine for my P35 system, but my system doesn't come alive in 5 - 6 seconds.
              But basicaly there is not a hibernation mode, is a sleep mode that can be used without power.

                Intel Rapid Start Technology requires Intel 7 Series Chipset support, .....
                The z68 (6 seroes chipset) probably won't work.
                With an Ivy Bridge cpu, maybe, maybe not.
                Will Rapid Start work with all desktop 7 series chipsets and processors, probably not for a while.
                Mobile 7 series chipset systems? Hopefully.
                7 series bioses are still immature and improving.
                There's still a lot of work to iron out all wrinkles and to simultaneously meet the reasonable demands of P67 and Z68 owners who were promised 100% compatibility with z75/z77 processors.

                My P35 system is a dual core processor that is a half-fast system compared to today's quad core SB or IB systems.
                Just as modern systems boot much faster than my system, my question is how long does it take Sandy or Ivy Bridge systems to come out of hibernation and/or standard sleep mode.

                  I understand. So why AsRock (and Gigabyte) enabled Z68? This feature is present in H61 too.Lincredible! Miracles Do Happen! ASRock First Brings Intel Rapid Start, Smart Connect Technologies To H61 Motherboard Series!

                      News!Support Brazil contacted me, giving ASrock 1.04 (I uploaded) it worked very well for patition size larger 8GB! But issue persist...However, I noticed that if I do not use Windows UEFI installation or if I have a HD with Windows preinstalled without UEFI (Even starting UEFI HD), everything works very well. Any ideas?

                          Finally! I just put the main HD (that contains the Rapid Start partition) in SATA 3_0 (was in the slot 3_1) and it worked! Close it.

                          Note: I use beta drivers for RST. 11.5.0.1171 more specified. Others drivers give me BSOD...

                            Just to comment on the Rapid Start feature, I really don't see what difference there is between it and the standard Windows Hybrid Sleep mode, or Windows Hibernation. Both save a copy of the current state of the PC on the system drive, and use it to restore the PC when it is started again. I use Windows Sleep mode, which saves the PC's state to RAM memory, so some power is used. The worst case power usage in Sleep mode would be 15 Watts, but with only two memory cards in use, the power usage is less than 5 Watts. This feature may have been created to satisfy the Eup power saving standards.

                            I also wonder if this feature was created due to the common problems the Intel 6-series chipset boards have with Windows Sleep, or really waking from Sleep. My Intel P67 chipset board PC is the only PC I have used that has a Sleep issue. My ASR Z77 Ex4 board wakes from Sleep perfectly every time.

                              The basic difference is: no need power! Put your computer in sleep mode, unplug from power. Turn the power on and automatically it initiates Hibernation (Hybrid Sleep on) or a normal boot (Hybrid Sleep off). In both cases (in power loss), the boot time will be basically the same: slow. With Intel Rapid Start boot in less 6 seconds (Fast as native sleep mode).

                              So:
                              Intel Rapid Start = Sleep mode without power.

                              Note: If used in conjunction with Instant Boot is perfect.
