I pressed it while the computer was on trying to plug an HDMI cable into the onboard connection, now the SATA connection my OS hard drive was connected to won't recognize anything I plug into it. Is there a solution? motherboard: Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

Re: Accidentally pressed the CLR CMOS button
Did you set the BIOS SATA settings back to what you had before? If so, and it didn't help, try clearing the CMOS on purpose with the board unplugged from the wall, then press the power on button on your case for a minute, then remove the battery and clear the CMOS via button or jumper for 1-2 minutes.
If that does not help, try reflashing the BIOS and starting over with Optimized Defaults.

Re: Accidentally pressed the CLR CMOS button
Yeah, I flashed the BIOS right before I reached out to you guys, the first couple cold boots I got nothing, finally I gave up and shut down my computer. About half hour ago I went back into BIOS and it was finally recognizing the media. It was a SATA3 connection, too. I thought I'd lost it forever to a ill-placed clear CMOS button.
