  • Extreme 3 Gen 3 BSOD ?Memory?

    My system:
    ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Mobo BIOS Version 1.30
    i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
    Drives
    Disk 0 WDC WD5000AADS-00S9B00 ATA 500G
    Disk 1 WDC WDC3200AAKS-75VYA0 ATA 320G
    Graphics NVidia GeForce GT240
    Power supply Thermaltake 485W

System BSODs. Minidumps indicate memory issue but I have replaced the memory even to a different brand and it made no difference.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to deal with this? I have RMA'd the mobo once so I think it is good and I just need to configure.
I'd be most grateful for any help.

    Thanks.

I tried setting the voltage to Auto, 1.64, 1.67. It did not make a difference. I do not know where to set the vtt.

      Thanks.

You should be able to set the XMP profile for memory in your UEFI for your GSkill "ripjaws". If you are still BDOD-ing then I would get a better PSU as the minidumps might look like they point to memory but a 485W PSU is way below what you should be using for your "Extreme"-hint system...

Yeah power supply was on my list of things to update. I did check the specs on the processor etc. 485W was supposed to be enough. Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them and let you know.

not dram voltage that should be no higher than 1.5750 on sb so set dram to that

vtt is for the integrated memory controller inside the cpu,if its at stock 1.05v then add two clicks more and retest
