  • ~ ASRock Ext7 Audio problem PLS HELP ~

    Hello!
hope someone could help me cause i'm out of idea....
this is the issue i currently have:

i'm not getting audio while windows say that it's all well connected.
the strange thing its that if i connect something to line-out (green) windows start to become crazy and he say endlessly that something has been plugged/unplugged untill i disconnect the cable...also the front audio panel of the case (Corsair 650D) is not working,
the only way is to connect my headphones to the screen...
(drivers are latest from Realtek and all cable are maniacally checked more and more times)

    PLS HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have i to RMA the mobo just for this???? :(

    Hey Mal

It sounds like there is an intermittent short or bad wires in your Corsair case's HDAudio headers wiring since you say that it affects both the back and front panel jacks. But does not affect the jack on your screen (HDMI audio?). Have you checked the Corsair forums to see if others are having issues with the case?

      Hi Sapphire!!

Yeah it looks to me the same at the beginning...but i also tried removing all front panel connectors (1394-USB-Audio HD)
and still no more audio...I also wrote on Corsair's Forum, sended e-mail to ASRock and Realtek...Now seems that the jack part it's totally broken...
it doesn't detect even the connection of the cable...

i think that could be the mobo...its tricky...

Cheers Sapphire you are the only one that always answer!

Re: ~ ASRock Ext7 Audio problem PLS HELP ~

If you have a Fluke or Simpson with VDC input you could test each of the 9 pins on the HDAudio1 header on the board with the red probe connected to the header ground (not case ground) and check for voltage LIVE! So be extremely careful!@! if your black probe cross touches 2 pins you could fry the header completely...OR without power (disconnect PSU from A/C source) and set the Fluke or Simpson to Ohms and if any pin is open then chances are that the header on the board is bad. Althouth I am more inclined to suspect that the case HDAudio connector/wiring is bad since they usually use a cheap-0 ribbon cable with inferior insulation material...

Other than using another 9-pin HDAudio to another case to rule out bad case wires which would most likely require a tenuous splice wire for each of the 9-pins so that they would reach into another case. I guess your only left with RMA of the board which is a pain in the a-- as well you know

        Good Luck My Friend

i don't have any of those thing...i will check how to find...
btw i already tried with all cables from panel disconnected and it's the same...
you think that are flimsy also cables in this corsair? could the front panel have fried my connectors??
tomorrow i'll try also to remove everything and try without any case...
maybe a bad contact...but not so confident...
          cheers i'll let you know!!
