tried with ide? same error? seems a strange problem,it can only be your sata ports according to that error its just having problems detecting them

Also it does it when both my drives are connected. The ssd is in a Sata 3 port

Hopefully taking this battery out sorts it out if not should I rma the board?

leave it out overnight then try in the morning,could be your bios chip thats corrupted,they pull out and a new one can be pushed in,see if anyone else has any suggestions tomorrow,you can pm asrock tsd-emily and maybe she will know more,i cant think what else you could try

if all that above fails then i would rma,asrock have good rma service so you will be fine there

THanks for advice how long do rma's generally take? I need my pc for uni really.

depends,if you rma with asrock directly it takes about a week n a half,becuase theres no uk based rma centre its in the netherlands the closest one

no idea,was that all you did swap mb from case to case? you didnt remove cpu at all? if you didnt dont disturb it,still could be badly corrupted cmos,ive know it take a long time to fully clear it

EDIT: you still could remove mb and set it up on cardboard box outside the case with psu/gpu/hdd's ect just to see if it is a possible short somewhere

All hard drives are now connected through different Sata ports and the gpu is working after trying a different pci slot then putting it back to the top one. I'm still getting the a6 error though should I take out the battery overnight and see if I still have the error?

yeah try it,you have nothing to lose,if gpu was fixed then it wasnt making good enough contact,i think same thing is happening for your sata cables?

Perhaps I'm getting another ssd tomorrow and debating weather to put two ssd's in raid 0, I'm installing windows at the minute just to test the gpu

so whats happening now? your installing on ssd or hdd?raid should work fine

I'm installing windows on the ssd just to test that the gpu is being recognised and the hdd on windows
