Core HT Series - Screen resolution is not right

Hi,

I recently purchased an ASROCK Core HT Series computer (Core i5 2520M processor, 4GB of memory, 500GB hard drive, Win 7 and bluray player).

I have it connected to a Sony KDL-40X2000 LCD TV via HDMI. The TV is 1080p.

When I change the screen resolution on the Core HT to its full setting on 1920x1080 the desktop images do not look very sharp. there is a slight blurriness to everything and I do not know why.

Are there any settings I can change to fix this and is this a problem that has come up before?

Obvious question, but have you checked the screen refresh rate - is it at 50hz/60hz- or is it lower? Check by right clicking on the desktop and bringing up screen resolution- although I am sure you have tried this already.
