  • Extreme9 tri-fire 7970 problems

    Hello,

I just purchased an Extreme9 motherboard to use with my 3960X and three HD7970's and am currently having problems getting the 7970 in PCIE slot 6 to register in windows. The gpu's work fine as I have cycled through each one to be sure they are not DOA, and I can run crossfire on two, but neither Windows more Catalyst Control Center detect a third card. I have also changed crossfire bridges which did not resolve the issue.

    Any ideas?

sounds like you are running out of power on slot 6. What PSU do you use? make and model.

I assume they are in the proper PCIe slots 1,4 and 6.

Did you try PCIe slot 6 by itself?

Did you try all three cards at the same time not in crossfire? did you try other slot combinations without crossfire? Did it find all three cards?

    Good luck
