  • Crash installing WinXP on 4CoreDual-SATA2.

Is there anybody how can help me? Always, when I try to start Win XP installation on this new board, immediately after cpoying the installation files my computer crashes (blue screen witha failure). Is this a hardware issue? I successfuly inastalled win98 (what is not the aim), the computer seems to work stable. But even by windows upgrade 98->XP I get a crash. Any idea? The processor is dual core 1.86GHz, 512MBt DDR1 (266MHz), simple video PCI adapter. Thanks.

You need to download service pack 3 for xp,then slipstream/add it to your xp installation disc,or maybe add it to Usb stick and when installation prompts you install extra drivers ect

Is or does your xp disc have sp3?

No, I am trying with winXP with SP2. Do you have a bad experience with XP SP2 (you know, that probably it would crash) or you suggest that this is the reason?
Tonight I will make a picture of the blue crash screen or I will write the massage and i will post tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

i know one user couldnt install,he had blue screens due to not the right pci driver being installed because sp3 wasnt included,im not sure how you do it but i think you need to download sp3 then make an iso image of your xp disc and add the sp3 pack to it,then load/install your newly made image disc,or Google sliptreaming sp3 for xp,or try and get hold of a disc or torrent with sp3 allready on the install disc

            Answer to wazza300:
Thank you for the advice. I am not sure that it will help, but I will try tonight with XP SP3 and I will let you know
            Answer to DarKSeeD:
For sure, during the at least 10 attempts to install XP SP2, I met "bad_pool_header" and "Page Fault in Non Paged Area". Bit I an sure, that this is not the problem!
From the beginning, I had problems copying some of the windows files during the first stage of the installation. I tried two different ROM drives (CD and DVD), alwasy without success. I tried different CDs again without success. I thought, the installation CD is not readable and the crash is caused by missing instalation files. Later I proved, that the problem is deeper. I installed siccessfully Win98SE and copied the instalation CD to the HD. Absolutely no problems. Then I tried installing from the hard disk, starting Win98 upgrade from the visual interface of the windows. Again, when I arrive at the step to copy the system files I had again this problem with not readable files and again crash.
Do you have any other ideas? Thank you in advance- nowerdays, to heep the hause in peace, you need internet there. Please.

Re: Crash installing WinXP on 4CoreDual-SATA2.

You can try to install XP with a minimum hardware (hdd, cd/dvd, video card, memory-minimum) see if goes further. Disable from BIOS what you don't need when you install XP: network, sound, firewire (1394) so on.
Try to post the entire stop error code like 0x0000003F578BC

Closed- Re: Crash installing WinXP on 4CoreDual-SATA2.

I would like to close the thema. I solved the problem. I am grateful to all guys who advised me and directed me to the right solution.
The problem was a defect RAM memory. It caused faults by copying the windows installation files or/and crash. The problem is well known and described e.g. in:
Windows XP file copy setup error...
I proved it in practice: I had 2 DIMMs and I my experiments showed, that with one of them or with both the installation crashes and with the second everything is OK. Thanks ones more.
