  • Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 motherboard problem

    Hi need help,
just recently purchased the Fatal1ty z68 pro gen 3 mobo.
the problem is that the system will not boot up with 2 sticks of ram.
    Ram being Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) Vengeance DDR3,
brought as a kit. have tried in both slots 1 and 3, 2 and 4. Will boot with 1
stick of ram but only in the 2 slots furthist from cpu. If you put a single stick
of ram in either of the 2 slots closest to the cpu the computer will not boot.

Not saying this is your problem... but at this time... the ASRock website does not list Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 memory as being compatible with the Fatal1ty Z68 Pro Gen 3. Sorry

Here's a link to the compatibility guide:
    ASRock > Products > Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 > Memory Support List

Thanks for all the help. Found the problem. The problem was caused by a plug on the underside bracket of a themalright venomous x cpu cooler,
which is for a 775 socket only. Once removed everything working. Must of been shorting out some where.
