  • H67M-GE/HT consumes 3.5 watt during standby sleep - how to squeeze that down?

Hi, I bought an Asrock H67M-GE/HT that is equipped with BIOS 1.60, 16 GB RAM, 120GB SSD and Intel Core i5-2500.
Power supply is a modern 400W bequiet! Straight Power E8 80+ Bronze. Operating System is Windows 7 x64.

When I measured how much energy the H67M-GE/HT consumes power I was shocked: 3.5 watt during standby sleep !
In my opinion that is definitely way too much !

What is wrong with the ASrock mainbiard that it consumes that much energy during sleep mode?
What can I do to get it down to 1 Watt or less? Thanks a lot for help!

Are you really concerned about 3.5W? Really?

Based on Australian domestic power charges (which are by no means cheap) - it costs 21.87c per KWh. So at 3.5W you'll be using less than 2c of power a day, hardly worth worrying about.
