  • New A770DE Motherboard won't let the DVD drives be bootable.

    Phenom II X4 925 2.8 GHz, 2 GB Ram (now I have 8 GB after I get a 64 bit Windows 7 Pro installed.)

I don't see anything wrong in the BIOS but DVD drive is disabled and while it otherwise works fine I want to be able to boot from the DVD.

I've tried both SATA and IDE drives with no success.

Installed an old 80GB SATA drive WIN XP Pro SP3 on it. I expected to be able to install the drivers from the CD but that genrated a lot of errors and under hardware devices PCI, USB and some unknown device all have yellow question marks. Also I get a warning that the audio device is not found while installing the drivers,

The desk top now has icons for ASRock Tuner, ASRock IES and ASRock Instant Boot installed OK and they each start fine.

    Suggestions?

    Bob
