  • ASRock K10N78D lower performance

    Hi!
I had an older mainboard from other company, that I had to replace.
So I found out that ASRock K10N78D is the perfect match for my needs.
The problem is that now I get lower performances with it, compared with the old one.
Windows Experience Index got for CPU and Memory from 5.7 to 5.1 and after I updated his BIOS I got 5.2 for CPU and RAM.
I also done a little FSB increase from 200 MHz to 201 MHz and I still not got the performance I had with the old one.
The old mainboard had FSB at 200 MHz.
Maybe is something in BIOS I need to change, I don't know.
    PC configuration:
    Mainboard AsRock K10N78D
    AMD Athlon 64 dual-core 2,80 GHz.
RAM 2 GB A-DATA 800 and 1 GB KINGMAX 800. DRAM Frequency after adding 1 GB KINGMAX 311,1 MHz
    Total RAM 3.0GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 311MHz (5-5-5-15)
    Video card Sapphire AMD ATI 5670 512 GDDR PCI-E 16x 2.0.
2x HDD Western Digital 320 GB 7200 RPM WDC WD3200AAKS-00VYA0 ATA Device (SATA)
    Display LG Flatron L1953TR 19"
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 biti.
With the old mainboard I had:
    9484 3DMarks
    SM 2.0 Score: 4172
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4792
The screen capture with the old MB results is not working, I see "!".
I need advices to get the same results, without OC, my PC is not ready for OC.
    Thanks!

    Re: ASRock K10N78D lower performance

For the old card (other manufacturer) I paid in 2008 100$ chipset NFORCE 570 SLI PCI-E 1.0.
For the new card AsRock (chipset NVIDIA nForce 720D) I paid yesterday 66$, PCI-E 2.0.
    If this helps.

      I forgot to mention.
I also had a case fan changed with (80mm ARCTIC COOLING, FAN 3 TC, 1900RPM, 28CFM)
On the old MB, I did not had floppy drive functioning, it was not conected to MB or did not had power, now it is.

AM2 boost lower my total 3DMark06 score and the other 2 scores.
        How is this possible?
I hope you will make a BIOS update that can improve a lot this MB performances.

3DMark11 confirm an increase of score with AM2 boost.
The forum has some problems, I'm not allowed to upload the score without AM2 boost.
          si I uploaded it here.
