I have the as rock p67 extreme6 motherboard (non-b3) running two gtx 480s in pcie slot 2 and 4. I want to install a dedicated sound card. Using slot 6 will cause the gpus to randomly freeze or produce very poor performance. Is this a bandwidth problem or do I need to get a new board with a nf200 controller? Thanks

Re: Asrock extreme6+sli and pcie issues
try to un-SLI and use that soundcard (at the same slot), getting no problem then please pay attention to update UEFI and the vga driver because UEFI is totally new (dunno whether it influence how the board read pci devices especially that board use PLX PEX8608 which is 'special') and nVidia driver sometimes 'confusing'

read this dude http://forums.tweaktown.com/asrock/45171-uefi-problem-asrock-880g-pro3.html and i thought u may contact AsRock for a solution - whether it's about UEFI or other matters
