  • Asrock H67M issues with i3-2100

    Hi,

I've installed an i3-2100 to the H67M motherboard, the board works flawlessly except it always show using 2 phases of power in "ASRock Extreme Tuning Utility"; no matter the machine is idle or under full load.

After switching the cpu to i3-2400, the ATX shows 4 phases of power under full load and 2 phases of power when idle; which I think is normal.

I've then changed another H67M and installed it with an i3-2100, the same symptom appears! My question is "Is it possible that the i3-2100 consumes just too little power and it never requires to use all 4 phases of power in the MB?"

Any input would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    I have H67M and Pentium G840
It is the same - only 2 phases are used

While running Prime95 stress test, the new ATXU software shows the correct number of power phase being used.

However, the readings of CPU voltage & CPU speed are wrong (0.9v & 1600Mhz).

Thanks for your attention in this matter.Click image for larger version

              Dear ikkjr,

Please kindly use CPU-Z tool to compare the CPU frequency and voltage.

              Thanks for your help!

                CPU-Z shows 3100Mhz & 1.1x volt.

                Thanks.

i found i had a similar-ish issue with AXTU, checking with cpu-z would have probably confirmed it, basically, i have a 890FXA deluxe 5 mobo .. i turned IES on and it would constantly play with the speed and voltages of my computer, upon disabling ies, no change, tried a few more quick diagnostics (except cpu-z =="), nothind worked .. reset the bios and bingo it was gone .. then time to re enter all my overclock settings :(

The AXTU ver0.1.96.1 did fix the IES power phase issue, but the reading of CPU speed & voltage are wrong,
may I ask when will the bug free version be available? Thanks.

                          Dear ikkjr,

Please kindly provide the more information and settings about the CPU frequency of AXTU and CPU-Z are different.
Which setting in the BIOS do you adjust?
When the symptom occur, how much is the CPU usage?

                          Thanks for your help!

                            Dear Emily,

                            >Which setting in the BIOS do you adjust?
                            Nothing, just using default

                            >When the symptom occur, how much is the CPU usage?
CPU usage is 100% since all cores are running Prime95 stress test

                            Thanks.
