I just put together a system using the Extreme 4 board with an Intel i7 2600K and 2X4GB G.Skill memory. It's running Win 7 Ultimate 64. I have the screen saver set for 6 minutes and after 20 minutes the monitor is put in standby. The system does not go into standby. As soon as the monitor is off, the system starts making sounds like I'm plugging in a USB device and unplugging it, about every three or four minutes. I've tried changing some of the USB settings for legacy but no luck in stopping the noises. The monitor is plugged into the DVI port on the motherboard, and I don't have a separate video card installed yet. Any thoughts or suggestions?
