Hello,

i have a big problem with my new pc. after several minutes/hours (from 15min- 3hours) the system just freezes. i cant do anything, but resetting my computer.

first i installed all standard asrock drivers. when things did not better i installed drivers from the website and then from intel homepage.

i did a complete memtest86+ and there were no errors.

What qpi/vtt voltage is the mb using?

Always use latest drivers from mb website,manually set dram/ram voltage according to your ram,either 1.5v or 1.66v,if qpi/vtt voltage is lower than 1.08v then manually set to 1.08v and retest

thank u for your first answer.

my ram voltage is 1.575

and my vtt is 1.057

i will set them as u said. in my ram specification i read, that it should be 1.5v


i have made screenshots of my bios settings. maybe u or someone else get more ideas (i set bios settings to standard after i recognized my problems).

edit: furthermore it looks like that the freezing only happens when i'm doing "office work", for example browsing, writing documents/emails.. i did a "stress test" with an hd movie, youtube movie and played audio files in the background for ~1h and the system did not freeze in the time.

Your dram will be fine on 1.575,try with 1.08v qpi/vtt as you might need more with 8gb of ram and auto isn't always accurate,I know it passes stress tests but not enough qpi/vtt voltage will cause freezes like you described under load or in idle mode,

BTW if your using the integrated graphics try one or two clicks more voltage than what auto uses for graphics core

the freezes are back :-(

did then "underclock" my ddr3 1333mhz to 1066mhz, but it didn't help.

any further ideas?

I have _exactly_ the same problem with a i3-2100 in a Asrock H67M motherboard, 4GB of ram. The computer will give Windows "program stopped" errors, freeze or reboot in the first hour or so of use, depending on load.

Running Prime95 in 'blend' mode fails within 5 minutes, whereas 'small' mode (CPU and cache only, no RAM) continues without errors. Memtest86+ shows no memory problems. Slowing down RAM, or raising its voltage does not help, neither does raising the CPU's Vcore.

The only setting that seems to have an effect is Vtt, which apparently sets the voltage of the CPU's build-in memory controller. Raising the voltage by 50mV clearly improves the time before Prime95 errors out, but does not fix it.

I wonder if this is a known issue -- is there anyone else that has experienced it?
