  • Dual video cards

Probably a newb question but can one run two Nvidia cards in SLI on the ASRock 870 Extreme3?
I see this mobo supports ATI crossfire but SLI? I've done some research but giess I haven't grasped
the difference between crossfire and SLI yet...

    Re: Dual video cards

Probably not a great deal of difference between Crossfire and SLI. Unfortunately the "magic" that allows the two technologies to work is not able to allow both technologies on the same board mostly due to licensing issues from what I have gathered. If you have a Crossfire enabled board then you will only be able to run two ATI videocards ... single ATI or single nVidia will also work just fine but you require a SLI enabled motherboard to use two nVidia cards. SLI enabled motherboards will also run single cards of either flavor.
