Re: onboard video
More information would be a major asset in determining what will work best for you. How much RAM do you have installed? If you only have 1GB of ram and shared is grabbing 256 mb then you may require more RAM installed. If, however, you have 4GB of RAM and the video is using 512 mb then you should be alright. Removing RAM shared memory may reduce video performance and that is not generally to your benefit. You could always try the other options to see how much difference it makes. If you think about it your video is probably the most important part of the user computing experience for most people. Why would you want to reduce the visual experience?Antec 900 case (4 120mm and 1 200mm lighted fans + UFO flashing light set + 2 12" and 1 6" Mutant Mods meteor lights) - Aerogate ll thermal controller - Asus M2N-e SLI - AMD 64 X2 AM2 6400+ - Corsair TX650 PSU - MSI 450GTS Cyclone OC - 2 X 2GB Patriot Extreme Performance PC2 6400 RAM - SATA 320 GB Seagate HD, SATA 300GB Maxtor HD and IDE 80 GB Samsung HD - Floppy Drive/Card Reader Combo - LG SuperMulti Lightscribe 18x DVD RW - Plextor PX-716A DVD r/rw - Windows 7 Home Premium 64

Re: onboard video
Well Im not much of a gamer if thats what your refering to I do play Mafia Wars on Facebook but thats it, my onboard video according to specs is 256m plus the shared I dont see why 256m wouldnt be enough for me so I should change it to only use onboard memory? Oh I have 4 gb but standalone im using 1730+ with 1605+ on standby and only 585 free. Acording to Windows 7COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Re: onboard video
I understand you are not a gamer but the fact still remains that the primary interface your computer has with you is visual. You could reduce your resolution to 800 x 600 and your colors to 16 bit but you probably wouldn't be happy with the result. What do you hope to accomplish by changing your settings? The RAM usage numbers you have listed look alright to me. Your total, cached, and free numbers are not that much different from what I currently have and I run more crap in the background than I need just because I can.Antec 900 case (4 120mm and 1 200mm lighted fans + UFO flashing light set + 2 12" and 1 6" Mutant Mods meteor lights) - Aerogate ll thermal controller - Asus M2N-e SLI - AMD 64 X2 AM2 6400+ - Corsair TX650 PSU - MSI 450GTS Cyclone OC - 2 X 2GB Patriot Extreme Performance PC2 6400 RAM - SATA 320 GB Seagate HD, SATA 300GB Maxtor HD and IDE 80 GB Samsung HD - Floppy Drive/Card Reader Combo - LG SuperMulti Lightscribe 18x DVD RW - Plextor PX-716A DVD r/rw - Windows 7 Home Premium 64
