Asrock Alive NF4G-DVI Motherboard

Hi, complete newby so please be gentle. I've inherited a pc with the above motherboard in running Widows 7 &, while it has SATA, it's had 2 IDE HD's in for some time. I've bought a Hitachi 500GB Sata HD but it will not regognise it, or see it in device manager. Do I need an updated driver, &, if so, could anyone let me know where I can find it.
