I've been meaning to create a backup box/NAS using the R1NAS Fractal Design case I've had laying about for a while now and will probably be setting up this Christmas.
My curiosity question in regards to ASRock would be the PCI-Ex16 slot on the A330ION board. The product manual (download) states that the slot is for graphics cards. In the past I know with certain MBs you can plug in a PCI-E raid controller into a 'graphics designated slot' without issue. I wish to know if installing the Areca controller (which is x8) in the PCI-E slot will disable the onboard video or otherwise cause undesirable results.
I haven't yet purchased the board so I haven't been able to physically test, rather looking to know if anyone can provide the information prior to purchase.
