My mother board is AsRock775 twins-hdtv ASRock > Products > 775Twins-HDTV.
I upgraded my CPU from Celeron D 341 to Intel DualCore E6500 2.93Ghz.
BIOS shows that cpu multiplier is 6.
But I know that for this proc multiplier may vary from 6 to 11.
I enabled SpeedStep function in BIOS.
After installing new CPU system load time increased dramatically: after HDD detection bios shows "Checking Nvram", after that the screen become black with blinking cursor in the left-top and in that state system waits for about 60 seconds, after that it make one beep and starts windows loading.
In windows I checked cpu speed with several utilities: CPU-Z, CrystalCPUID, Everest and others and all of them show that my CPU work on 1600 MHz and this is because of multiplies x6 (266x6=1600).
I launched different application that load cpu up to 100% but multiplier remains the same (x6). As far as I know SpeedStep technology should increase multiplier depending on the cpu load.
My BIOS is updated to the latest 2.10 version.
I tested new CPU on the other computer and it works as expected.
Does anyone know how to increase cpu multiplier up to x11(standard value)?
