And it was PersianImmortal who said he was tempted to delete the thread. I don't take that as helpful thus my response. My appologies to others who were reading this thread; and yes I do understand.

As you can see, my temptation was because the thread seemed like a whinge thread unrelated to an actual Windows-related problem. As I suspected it's a hardware problem, but I'm sorry to hear that you lost your mobo because of it. I recently had problems with my old mobo which caused Windows to suddenly bluescreen a lot and hence I got a new system.

Windows XP is actually quite a stable OS, but people expect a lot from it under the pressures of overclocking and modification. If you have the time, read my two XP Guides (in stickies at the top of this forum) when you do a new XP install and you'll find things running smoothly for you.
