XP refresh rate on ATI cards

Hi

I know that this is an "old" problem. But I've just bought a new machine (uses an ATI 980 pro graphics card and Windows XP) and when coming out of some games, the refresh rate has been re-set to 60htz. Any way to prevent this? More annoying than anything.

download RefreshForce, it's a free fix that will keep your monitor at the optimal refresh rate at any resolution, constantly :)

If it's a half-life based engine try using "ati_npatch 0". I don't know what it does - but with it on my fps is set to 60. When it's off, it on my preset of 85.
