IE6 problem displaying links

I currently have problems w/ links on yahoo such as news stories. when i click on the headline, it shows me the first paragraph & give me a link to the whole story at the end (More). when i click on "More" i get the "Page cannot be display..." error.
for example the address w/ the error will be:
"http://rd.yahoo.com/.../latest_developments/story_more/*http://story.news.yahoo.com/...."
but if i delete the "http://rd.yahoo.com/.../latest_developments/story_more/*" in the address, then the story will be displayed. can anyone point to the fix?!? i sick of needing to delete them whenever i want to read a story or use yahoo maps....i've tried removing & reloading ie already but still have the same problems...

Are you using IE6 SP1?
Does this only happen on Yahoo?
Are you opening the link in the same window, or a new window?
Have you by chance installed any software immediately before the problem began?

Disable any pop-up stoppers you have running and see if that helps.
Offhand, I'd say try restoring the Oleaut32.dll.

Do check that you have got a clean "HOSTS" file in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc directory. its a file that manages IP on your local puter.
I feel that you have got "http://rd.yahoo.com" set to blocked in your HOSTS file. If you installed some pop-up stopper, it could have done this to you.
To clear the HOSTS file...open the file with notepad and look for an entry with "http://rd.yahoo.com" against an IP like 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0.
If there is any such entry, delete the entry and save the file.

do look for all the usual sites you visit before installing any HOSTS file...it becomes quite frustrating when you get a problem like this and you feel that you didn't do anything to deserve things like this...:cheers:
