  • Auto cad 2000 Question

Does any one now if i can load Auto Cad 2000 on to Windows XP PRO with out having to shell out more money for 2003 or 04 paid a good buck for 2000 . When i try to load it just say it's for win95 & 98 and ME. The only alternative is i guess a could partition my hard drive and load ME on then load Auto cad that way,I was just hoping there was a driver or something out there i could load for XP.
    Thanks for the replies .

    Re: Auto cad 2000 Question

you will have to install a patch first. It's available on the Autodesk ftp site. I forgot the link to it, but if you call Autodesk they will give it to you or not cuz they want your $$$$. I am positive there's a patch available cuz I have 2000 installed on my XP professional. An alternative to this is to first install in on a 98 or 2000 then upgrade your system to XP.

        Re: Auto cad 2000 Question

If you Get this error follow these steps:

Go to the Setup.exe (Of Autocad 2000 )file, right click on it and go to Properties. Then click the Compatibility Tab and where it says compatibility mode just click in the box under it and turn it to Windows 2000.
Then click OK and run the Setup.exe

It should work fine then, at least, it did for me
