I'm yet to see a program that can 'open' nrg files. What I did was used Nero to make an image from the image, and get it to make an ISO or whatever you prefer.

i tried burning a .nrg file (using nero's "Image Recorder") and it only gives me the option of putting it as a .nrg file again.

i use Daemon tools to mount the image files but alot of the .nrg files wont mount. anyone know a program that will save a image as a .iso or .img?

here are few solutions i could think/search for. i have no idea how many of them will work.

          1. If you have any kind of Linux install available, you can use Nrg2Iso http://gregory.kokanosky.free.fr/v4/...rg2iso.en.html
You can then mount the ISO and extract files on your HD.

          2. Rename the .nrg file to .iso and open it with Daemon Tools. You will need to have Nero Image Drive installed to make Deamon Tools read the new *.ISO file. Daemon Tools reads ISO in a better way then NRG files. Secondly, it will not work with non ISO-9660 image files. Example: Audio CD and VCD Images. You can also try opening the renamed .ISO file with WinRAR. Also try giving VaporCD http://vaporcd.sourceforge.net/ a go. Its a good app for mounting ISO files.

          4. CDmage is another solution. http://cdmage.cjb.net/

          5. Did you try ISOBuster? http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/

6.WinISO is another program that has been known to work wonders, but i feel its a pay software. Thats just a guess.

If you have an image of a Audio CD or Video CD in .NRG format then it is very difficult to extract/open/covert them.
