What is the brand/model name of your power supply? How many watts?
Does it have a single 6-pin pci-e power cable?

A quick check shows that some $100 video cards recommend a minimum 400 watt power supply.

it has no 6 pin pcie power pins... thats why i am asking for some card that could perform without the extra power boost. was thinking about gtx650 but not sure about power conectors

      PSU is like 550w

It sounds like you have an old power supply if it doesn't have a 6-pin pcie power cable.
Many cheap power supplies can't put out anywhere near the claimed power output.
A quick check shows that the GTX 650 requires a 6-pin power cable connection.
You can see which video card models require a 6-pin power cable connection by checking at the manufacturer's web site for each video card model.
There are probably many lower performing video cards (Nvidia or Radeon) that will not require an additional power cable.

You can buy a 4-pin molex to pcie 6-pin adapter, but for safety reasons, this adapter must have 2 molex connections.

Its actually a brand new hp elite pc that does not have 4 pin molex conectors. But i found a fix there is a
Sata to pciex power adapters that will do just fine i guess. Thx for your input

Re: What GFX card with no extra PSU to buy

I'm a little late to this party, but the HD 7750 does not require a 6 pin or any external power and is a great low power video card. Probably the best possible choice in that segment. I would not expect that HP PSU to live long supporting a graphics card that needs external power.
