Hey lads,
I'm seeking advice on a core upgrade that will overclock well. My present E8400 @3.6Ghz just doesn't have the grunt I need.
I plan a cpu, mobo & RAM upgrade.
Present basket is:
I'll be reusing everything else, (see sig) the only thing i'm unsure about is my cooler. Its a Arctic 7 pro cooler, which has done me fine till now.
I'd like to get 4Ghz - 4.5Ghz out of the i2500k, does this ram, mobo and old cooler sound like a good combo to achieve this (easily, novice overclocker here).
I'd really appreciate any feedback, just looking for the best 'bang for buck' setup. But happy to pay a little extra of quality. As I believe 'you get what you pay for'. I need a good quad core cpu to handle the cpu intensive flight simulators that are bring my present rig to its knees. I'm assuming the i2500k is still the best cpu around....
Thank you.
