Well looks like a great forum.I run mostly racing and flying sims, particularly iRacing and Over Flanders Fields using CFS3.
Right now I have a Intel Core2 Duo E6750 running 2.66 Ghz with 2GB Ram, and Nvidia 8800GT Vid card. I also do a lot of photo work with Photoshop.
I don't need bleeding edge, but something that won't be obsolete by a year or two
I really would like to get into building and fixing PC's, can't think of a better way than building, and also doing the research as well.
From what I've read the AMD MB's and CPU's are the best bang for the buck, but I have also read they have stability issues, where i haven't heard that with the intel boards.
Then theres MB's LGA 775, LGA 1156, or LGA 1366 ? the 775 seems to be on its way out, so its down to 1156 or 1366. I've heard the Gigabyte and Asus MB's are probably the best, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.
I am still learning about CPU's, and especially coolers. I like a quiet system, so I've been using Antec cases.
As far as Video cards I've always had Nvidia, but the ATI's seem to be the way to go, although the one I did have always had issues with the front end, that catalyst triple part front end.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
