  • What Fans to buy?

Okay i'm thinking about getting new Case Fans for my system. I'm running the stock 120's that came with my Antec 1200 Case. had 1 go out on me. and got another sorta slowing down when i have it shut off for a period of time while at work. And running 1 120mm Noctua on my Noctua heatsink setup for CPU.

But i don't know what brand of Fan is the best out there for duribility, warrenty, holding up, etc... I'm sticking with 120mm.

So if anybody could give some pointers it would be greatful, Thanks.

    Re: What Fans to buy?

I think it will be nearly impossible for anyone to answer your question. There are so many manufacturers of fans, and so many different types, sizes and speeds available. Everyone has their favorites which are always based on how long they last, how efficient they are, how noisy they are, or how good they look.

I've seen guys purchase a name brand fan $25.00 that is considered one of the best, and it dies on him 3 weeks later so he thinks it's a piece of junk. Another buys a no name fan for $7.99 and he's thrilled with it because it's still running 4 years later. Fans are a tough call....Good Luck!

      Re: What Fans to buy?

Its actually a real easy question. As stated above fan duarbility is a non question as you could have the most expensive fan ever crap out on you with in a year or the $2 fan from your Pentium 2 case still going strong ten years later. Or whatever. The answer is The Noctua NF-P12 Newegg.com - Noctua NF-P12-1300 120mm Case Fan - Case Fans if its the same as the one you have on your CPU then you will know that they are super quiet, great SSO bearings and move ship loads of air. Re: What Fans to buy?

Yeah kinda what i was thinking when i read the post above yours.

And i was kinda wondering about the Noctua Fan, Yes it is a nice quiet fan, plus i had to recheck manufacturer page on the warrenty, it's 6 years. so yeah im thinking hands down it.

But i did kinda want others inputs about it and what they had thought. Kinda debating on wanting LED or not for the fans, But for a plain just quiet fan Noctua is it.

        Thank You.

          Re: What Fans to buy?

LED's are overrated. I hate them on my PC and as soon as Noctua have a 140mm version of the NF-P12 available in australia I will be getting it for the front of my case. I leave my computer on overnight heaps and I dont really want it to light up half my house. So the people out on the street can see. If you know what I mean.

No Problem Man, Just my two cents worth. But the Noctua is a good fan. And really the quieter your computer is the happier you will be.
