how much juice do you need, and do you care about extra goodies (quiet, led fans, wrapped cables...)? My personal preference in PSUs is Antec, but there are several good ones around.

i should tell you what i have and what I'm plannig to get.
        What I have:
        Case:Chenbro X pider
        Motherboard:Intel D875 pbz

Planning (in other words "waiting for my nex paycheck):
        P4 2.4 or 2.6 GHz 800 fsb
Video card: aow ati radeon 9700
        Soun card: still not sure
        RAM:probably some Crucial sticks.

Now the thing is I'm not really sure about a ceratin brand.
I read on a review that the antec true 480W has a lot of heat isues due to the noise control that they use.

with that hardware, a psu with at least 400W would do it, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get a larger one to accommodate any future hardware. Like I said, the Antec true480 is a great choice.

Should I buy maxtor or seagate?

western digital ;) There is always a lot of debate over which hard drive manufacturer is better. Personal I prefer WD, as do a lot of other people here. Of those two, I'm not sure I can tell you which one is better
