  • LCD Monitors

Hey guys, It's time to upgrade monitors. Just would like your opinion on which LCD monitor performs best.
I'm looking for a 17" one, sleek design, clear image and high contrast.
    Price range is AU$700-800
    :smokin:

EDIT: How dose a Hercules Prophetview 920 17" LCD Monitor rank?

We had a Hercules 17" LCD in not long ago and I was really impressed with it and it falls into your price range.

    Give it a look.

Yeah, Samsung have a good range.
19" LCD is WAY out of my budget. That's like $1300 Australian dollars.

Just went through Tweaktowns review archive and I was just wondering if there was a review on the Hercules 17" LCD.

EDIT: One more question, I've been reading in the forum about "Dead LCD Pixels", and I was concerned because it seemed like such a big issue when thinking about buying LCD. How long would the Hercules 17" LCD last before this would happen?

Probably not as long as a Samsung.

Doesn't Hercules use the Samsung LCD screen?
I think I read this somewhere before. Correct me if I'm wrong.

19"..........Way too expensive, I just bought a new Radeon 9800. My wallet has a big hole through it now.

Well, unless space is an issue, I'd recommend saving some cash and buying a nice small CRT 21" or something. CRT monitors are really underrated, and many can support nice high resolutions that allow you to take full advantage of that 9800's abilities, I'd give them a look. : peace2: Mista K6
