I have a friend that has a laptop without firewire inputs just usb 2. His video camera has firewire outputs. How will he connect this to his laptop? Can he get an external hard drive that has usb and firewire and kind of daisy chain it? Hook the ex.hd to the laptop and the exhd to the camera? Anyone ever run into this problem?

Re: Firewire question?
He can get a PCMCIA to Firewire adapter or Express Card to firewire adapter, depending on which his laptop has.
If the HDD has a pass-through firewire connection as well as a USB output, it could work, but I sincerely doubt it would.
