Computer short circuits with my seagate hard drive

I have a problem with my PC. It will short cirvuit and will not turn on if I have my 160GB seagate drive in it. If i unplug it, it runs fine. Im guessing the drive is short circuiting.

Is there anyway I can fix this without replacing the drive? or is there anyway to send the hard drive in for repairs so i do not lose the data?

If you go to the Western Digital website, I believe there is a link under service that allows you to input your serial number from the hard drive and see if it is still under warranty. If it is, then there should also be a link close by for obtaining an RMA. This process will allow you to get your hard drive changed out with a serviceable one.

Seagate has a 5 year warranty as of june 2004.
