Whats the point to having mutiple harddrives is it better to have 2 seperate 80G then a single 160G??

I have 2 hdds, one I use for all data back ups in case the main drive physically fails. i use 5 hard drives, 2x120gbs, 2x160gbs and a 80gb...having more hard drives gives u a wider spread of failure, instead of being hit by losing 250gb i could only lose 80 or 120...Comment
